
Mission Statement of the Department of Restaurant, Hotel and Institutional Management (RHIM)
The department of RHIM inherited the mission of the College of Human Ecology (humanities, creativity, and globalization), which considers the effects of resource investment, faculty development consensus, and directions, and draws up RHIM mission statements, visions, and features to achieve the concepts of resource centralization and goal focus. Following the missions of College of Human Ecology, the department of RHIM thus establishes its mission and vision, as follows:
◎ Mission:The mission of the Department of Restaurant, Hotel, and Institutional Management is to prepare citizens of character to become successful professionals who aspire to leadership roles in the community and in the global hospitality industry.
◎ Vision:The vision of the department of RHIM is to become a leading hospitality educational institution that ranks among the global first-tier of hospitality programs.
◎ Educational Objectives
The Department of RHIM aims to cultivate hospitality management talent emphasized the spirits of profession, internationalization, innovation and sustainability. In the classrooms, HRIM students explore both the principles of business management and fundamentals of hospitality operations. Additionally, students can apply their managerial knowledge in real-life learning experiences through on site professional training facilities and equipment (such as the food production laboratory, Life Tea Café, “Jia-Yuan” laboratory restaurant, and St. Sacred teaching hostel). For students’ internships, we cooperate with restaurants and hotels to provide a real-world atmosphere and build professional connections to support our students becoming hospitality professionals. The Department of RHIM offers undergraduate, graduate, and executive MS programs and their educational objectives are addressed below:
Undergraduate (including continuing education division):
- To cultivate hospitality service abilities
- To develop hospitality management professionals
- To promote interactions between academia and the hospitality industry
Master of Science:
- To strengthen innovative and research abilities in hospitality management.
- To cultivate advanced hospitality management professionals.
Executive Master of Science:
- To cultivate upper-level executive professionals in hospitality operations
- To strengthen the ability of professional applications in hospitality operations
