Jia-Yuan Laboratory Restaurant

Jia-Yuan Laboratory Restaurant of Restaurant, Hotel, and Institutional Management Department ( RHIM ), with 126 seats, is opened in July 1983. The restaurant lab prepares students in RHIM and Nutritional Science majors who take required quantity food preparation practice course, by exposing them to all aspects of quantity group meal preparation as well as skills of table service. The menu which changes on daily basis is designed by student teams throughout the semester; therefore, it provides more lunch choices for students and faculty on campus. Beside the quantity food preparation class, this restaurant is also an important site for other classes (i.e. special topic for coffee and beverage management) and activities for department self ( i.e. freshmen orientation and parents ‘day, freshmen party, uniform party, alumni party, graduation exhibition, RHIM camp, and graduation tea party) as well as for school use.
